The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional Controller to join our growing organization and lead our financial operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, Finance and Investments, the Controller will play a pivotal role in shaping Deveraux’s financial strategy, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance across all entities within the group.

What you bring…
We’re looking for a driven and forward-thinking professional with:
- CPA designation and a proven track record of success in financial leadership.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in public accounting.
- At least 3 years of experience leading and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Advanced expertise in GAAP/IFRS and tax compliance.
- Proficiency in financial reporting tools and ERP systems (experience with QAD is an asset).
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A strategic mindset with outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A passion for delivering excellence and driving continuous improvement.

As Controller, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing all accounting operations, including financial statement preparation, management reporting, and audits.
- Leading financial planning processes such as budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Ensuring compliance with all tax regulations and overseeing the preparation and review of GST, PST, and corporate tax filings.
- Managing tax-related responsibilities, including tracking changes in tax legislation, providing guidance on implications, and ensuring timely and accurate filings.
- Developing and maintaining a robust internal control framework to safeguard financial data and processes.
- Driving process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
- Monitoring relationships with financial institutions and ensuring effective cash and treasury management.
- Mentoring and managing the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
