Wärtsilä Global Operative Control Centre is a virtual organisation whose primary responsibility is operative controlling across all functional areas and product lines within Wartsila. The working environment is internationally orientated. Wärtsilä offices can be found all over the world. Many different nationalities, languages and cultures are involved.
We are now looking for a GOCC Controller – Parts functional area for temporary position of 14 months.
The preferred location for the GOCC Controllers is Vaasa, Finland but also other current GOCC locations can be considered. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.

As GOCC Controller your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Pro-actively supports and communicates with material management, warehousing, parts coordination management and distribution & invoicing teams as well as service unit, product line, function and business controllers and controllers and other relevant stakeholders
  • Monitors and analyses the data quality within spare parts sales, purchasing and inventory processes to ensure correct financial reporting
  • Monitors and analyses inventory levels, aging and structure, and ensures correct inventory valuation according to Group and Services division guidelines
  • Provides feedback to service unit, product line, function and company controllers on ways of working and processes
  • Takes an active role in supporting various stakeholders and asking questions to understand and improve the processes related to own responsibility area
  • Is responsible for the period end closing activities and internal controls reporting in own responsibility area
  • Enables standard business reporting to management and to function controlling related to performance measures defined for spare parts processes.

Responsibilities:

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:

  • Bachelor/Master degree, preferably in Finance and Accounting
  • Good knowledge and experience of spare parts related processes
  • Good financial knowledge and reporting & analysing skills
  • Excellent SAP skills, especially in FICO, SD, MM and PP modules
  • Good skills in other reporting tools such as QlikView, Power BI and MS Excel
  • Understanding of business and system integration
  • Good communication and team working skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a virtual team and communicate across teams and functions
  • Forward thinker who isn’t afraid to challenge and has progressive attitude towards tasks and goals
  • Excellent skills in English, both written and spoken
  • Some years of experience in finance and controlling is seen as an advantage
    Education: The ideal candidate has a professional commercial education and some years’ experience in related position - preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Finance and Accounting or similar.
