Description:
We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Controller - Part Time, based in greater Milwaukee area. This role involves managing the company’s financial accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and developing best practices to enhance financial management. The Controller will be working in the construction industry, requiring familiarity with QuickBooks, Reconciliations, Sales and Use Tax, and the Purchase Order Process.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Regularly perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Apply expertise in QuickBooks to manage financial transactions and records
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end close procedures
- Develop and implement best accounting practices for efficient financial management
- Manage the sales and use tax process in compliance with local tax regulations
- Oversee the purchase order process to ensure timely and accurate processing
- Handle commissions calculation and processing
- Participate in budget processes to assist in financial planning and forecasting
- Utilize knowledge in the construction industry to tailor financial practices and strategies.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles
- Proficiency in managing Accounting Functions
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Familiarity with Budget Processes
- Expertise in using QuickBooks software
- Experience in Account Reconciliation
- Knowledge of the Construction industry
- Understanding of Local Taxes
- Ability to manage Purchase Orders
- Part-time availability
