Description:
We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Controller within the manufacturing industry. This role is based in greater Hampden County Massachusetts. As a Controller, you will be primarily involved in financial management, including the analysis of earnings quality, preparation of proforma P& L’s, and the classification of vendor payments and various base expenses. You will also be responsible for managing and keeping track of inventory. Initially the role will be onsite for onboarding and then can be primarily remote.
Responsibilities
- Analyze earnings quality to ensure they accurately represent the company’s financial performance.
- Develop proforma and conduct a historical review of profit and loss statements.
- Prepare the business for sale by ensuring financial documentation is in order.
- Conduct year-end inventory counts to maintain accurate records.
- Scrutinize vendor payments and other base expenses and reclassify as necessary.
- Use Accounting Software Systems to manage and track financial data.
- Reconcile Payroll and Trial Balance to prevent discrepancies.
- Analyze Profit and Loss statements to identify trends and make financial projections.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role within the Scientific Instrument Manufacturing industry
- Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
- Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Familiarity with Annual Inventory processes
- Ability to Reconcile Payroll effectively
- Experience in preparing Trial Balance
- Proficiency in analyzing Profit and Loss statements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of current financial regulations and standards
- Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
