Description:

We are inviting applications for a Controller role in the construction industry, based in Atlantic Beach, Florida. The successful candidate will have the responsibility of overseeing the financial activities of a general contracting company. The role involves a variety of tasks such as supervising staff, overseeing the preparation of accounts receivable billings, and managing IT related issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and review of monthly financial statements
  • Supervise staff and mentor them to grow in their roles
  • Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently
  • Monitor daily cash balances to ensure requirements are met
  • Oversee the payment process to vendors and subcontractors and confirm lien waivers are properly collected
  • Supervise the weekly payroll process for contract and full-time employees
  • Participate in strategic planning with the leadership team and prepare financial budgets and forecasts
  • Review accounts receivable, aging reports, and assist with collections
  • Handle the procurement and maintenance of the business and health insurance programs
  • Meet with the company’s bankers and bonding company to review financial results and forecasts when required
  • Oversee the monthly job cost report process with the President and project managers for use in creating and updating contract schedules and updated work in progress reports for internal and external use.
  • Proficiency in AIA Billing is essential
  • Demonstrable experience with Job Cost
  • Familiarity with Foundation Software is required
  • Knowledge of General Ledger processes and systems
  • Ability to manage Cash Balances effectively
  • Must have experience with Month End Close procedures
  • Capability to handle Lien Waivers
  • Experience with Weekly Payroll management
  • Ability to compile and analyze Monthly Financial Statements
  • Proficiency in Budgeting and Forecasting is desirable
