Description:
CONTROLLER - Established Manufacturer in the Duluth, GA Area
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Controller to oversee our financial and treasury systems for our client located in Duluth, Georgia. This role ensures that financial information is accurate, complete, and compliant with generally accepted accounting principles and taxation requirements. The Controller will act as a strategic business partner, providing leadership and managing financial activities across business units. You will collaborate with the leadership team and accounting groups to drive company growth, profitability, and key initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders to understand their business operations and financial information needs.
Enhance financial understanding across business operations through accurate reporting of actuals, forecasts, and flash reports.
Manage cash flows and provide relevant reporting to the CEO, CFO, and Executive Management.
Oversee financial reporting obligations, including the preparation and analysis of audited financial statements and consolidated quarterly reports.
Implement and continuously improve finance systems, policies, and procedures.
Manage finance systems and transaction flows from source through interfaces to SAP general ledger.
Ensure timely, accurate, and complete maintenance of finance ledgers to support internal users and meet statutory obligations.
Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information and ensure reporting functions are met.
Prepare and manage annual budgets and forecasts.
Perform additional finance-related activities, including governance/internal control, asset financing, and business administration.
Be an active and visible member of the management team.
Oversee high-level accounting, managerial accounting, and financial activities.
Develop internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning strategies.
Generate key reports such as weekly shipping forecasts, flash reports, and KPI reports for manufacturing and supply chain.
Manage invoicing, collections, and payments.
Lead the annual budgeting process for both the local entity and the corporate parent.
Coordinate full-cycle payroll processing with Human Resources.
Direct the local accounting team and lead strategic improvement initiatives.
Establish credit guidelines and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Oversee corporate and sales tax filing and payments.
Ensure compliance with GAAP where applicable.
Travel occasionally to the parent company in Italy as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration; CPA preferred but not required.
5+ years of experience as a Controller in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to manage and delegate effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with excellent organizational and analytical capabilities.
Experience in accounting for manufacturing or distribution companies, preferably in the machinery industry.
Understanding of cost accounting.
Proficiency in SAP and MRP systems.
Ability to develop analysis and presentations to communicate strategies and achieve company goals.
