Description:

We are inviting applications for the position of a Controller, based in Fremont, Nebraska. This role is centered around the sales industry, where you will be managing the activities of the accounting department, providing financial information to management, and ensuring accurate processing of all accounting areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the accounting department’s operations, ensuring the accurate and timely dissemination of financial and management reports
  • Communicating with various business departments to provide financial information and guidance on accounting issues
  • Establishing and maintaining systems and controls to verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data
  • Reviewing contracts and vendor applications to ensure the company obtains the best business and financial impact
  • Overseeing the activities of all accounting areas to ensure accurate and timely processing, coordinating tax filings with the company’s tax advisor
  • Ensuring changes to business that impact financial statements are reflected in accounting policies and procedures, in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and local/state/federal tax laws
  • Conducting performance evaluations of staff members and providing training as needed
  • Responding to CFO with accurate and timely work information and participating in other projects as assigned by CFO
  • Managing the annual financial audit with the external audit firm and SOX audits internally
  • Reviewing monthly sales and other major transactions for accuracy and accounting issues, identifying, discussing, and executing action based on feedback from CFO and management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar within the sales industry
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and ADP - Financial Services
  • Proficient in CRM systems
  • Ability to manage Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Experience in Auditing and Budget Processes
  • Proven ability in creating Annual Financial Reporting and External Financial Reports
  • Expertise in Financial Reporting, Monthly Financial Reports, Month-end Financials, and Month-end Close Activities
  • Experience with Month-end Journal Entries, Month-end Reports, and Performing Month-end activities
  • Knowledgeable in Year-end Audits, Year-end Close, Year-end Financial Statements, Year-end Reporting, Year-end Payroll, and Year-end Tax
  • Experience in Year End Closings, IFRS Accounting, GAAP Accounting, and US GAAP
  • Familiarity with Accounts receivables systems and Fixed Assets
  • Competency in Cash Flow Analysis, Cash Flow Forecasts, Cash Flow Management, Cash Flow Reports, and Cash Flow Statements
  • Experience in Annual Tax Provision and Income Tax Provision
  • Understanding of Asset Inventory, Annual Inventory, Inventory forecasting, Inventory Planning, Inventory Targets, Inventory Turnover, and Inventory Variance
