Description:

We are opening up a role in the manufacturing industry located in Auburn NY. The position of Controller is critical to our operations. This role entails overseeing accounting functions, maintaining financial records, and ensuring our organization adheres to the highest standards of fiscal responsibility. This role is on-site and offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Conduct month-end and year-end closings to ensure timely and accurate financial reports
  • Develop and manage company budget processes to support financial planning and decision-making
  • Maintain a clear and accurate record of company revenues, ensuring all transactions are recorded promptly
  • Handle customer inquiries and offer solutions to any issues related to their accounts
  • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary
  • Proficiently use software like Epicor and Excel for various accounting tasks
  • Collaborate with the owner and other team members to achieve financial goals
  • Ensure all financial operations comply with federal and state laws.
  • Proficiency in overseeing all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Strong knowledge of budget processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close procedures
  • Experience in conducting year-end closings
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred
  • Prior experience in a similar role in the manufacturing industry is advantageous.
