Description:
We are in search of a Controller for our team located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations such as accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. The role is crucial in ensuring compliance with GAAP and the company’s financial policies. This is a permanent role that will require a high level of precision, organization, and financial acumen.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all financial operations, including but not limited to, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company financial policies.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Implement and maintain effective job costing systems and processes.
- Analyze project costs, margins, and profitability to ensure financial efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers to monitor and manage budget variances.
- Lead the budgeting process in collaboration with senior management.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and financial projections to support decision-making.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, providing variance analysis.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and timely filing of tax returns.
- Oversee external audits and coordinate with auditors to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring their ongoing professional development.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic business decisions.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Support business development initiatives through financial analysis and modeling.
- Proficient in 3M
- Experience with Accounting Software Systems
- Knowledge of ADP - Financial Services
- Ability to use CRM effectively
- Skilled in Crystal Reports
- Strong understanding of Accounting Functions
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
- Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Familiarity with Auditing processes
- Proficient in Budget Processes
- Experience with Job Cost
