Description:

We are seeking a Controller to join our team in ELKRIDGE, Maryland. This role is crucial to our Manufacturing industry operations as it involves managing and overseeing all aspects of our financial systems. This role is office-based, operating within standard business hours. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all financial operations within the company including inventory management and credit control
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to ensure efficient operations
  • Process and monitor customer credit applications to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain thorough and accurate customer credit records
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Provide leadership to a team of 3, including an Accountant and Senior Account
  • Work closely with corporate office for approvals on financial matters
  • Ensure all financial reports are prepared and submitted on time, including Month End Close, Financial Statement, and Monthly Financial Statements
  • Participate in the initial telephone interviews and subsequent video in-person interviews with the Director of Finance
  • Manage high pace work environment ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Candidate must possess strong leadership skills and be able to guide key opinion leaders effectively
  • Adept at preparing monthly financial statements and performing month end close activities
  • Proven track record in managing financial statement analysis and reporting
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Proficient in using financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset
  • Must have a professional qualification in finance or accounting, such as CPA or CFA
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a leadership position
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
