Description:

We are looking for a diligent Controller in the Naugatuck, Connecticut area. As a Controller, you will be tasked with overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP principles, and coordinating the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts. You will also play a crucial role in supervising and mentoring the accounting staff, ensuring quality control over financial transactions, and providing strategic recommendations to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Conduct the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
  • Analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Lead and coordinate the annual audit process.

  • Proficiency in Accounting Functions
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Familiarity with Auditing procedures
  • Understanding of Budget Processes
  • Ability to manage Month End Close procedures
  • Experience in Manufacturing Cost Accounting
  • Ability to prepare Financial Statements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities
  • Proficiency in relevant accounting software and applications
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • High level of integrity and dependability
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
