Description:
We are offering a contract employment opportunity in the financial sector located in SAINT LOUIS, Missouri for the role of a Controller. The selected candidate will be part of a team that handles a wide range of accounting functions, and will be specifically responsible for assisting with the financial close process, general ledger, and accounting software systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the monthly financial close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date
- Use accounting software systems to process and record financial transactions
- Identify and address any gaps in the current accounting processes and propose improvements
- Document all new and updated accounting processes for reference and training purposes
- Assist in the clean-up of chart of accounts and general ledger as needed
- Collaborate with the team to assist with financial planning and budget management
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on their status
- Process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain accurate customer credit records and resolve any customer inquiries in a timely manner.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
- Experience with all Accounting Functions
- Understanding and knowledge of the Financial Close Process
- Familiarity with Monthly Financial Close operations
- Ability to manage and maintain the General Ledger
- Proficiency in Quickbooks Online
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to accounting and financial management.
