Description:

We are offering a contract employment opportunity in the financial sector located in SAINT LOUIS, Missouri for the role of a Controller. The selected candidate will be part of a team that handles a wide range of accounting functions, and will be specifically responsible for assisting with the financial close process, general ledger, and accounting software systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the monthly financial close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date
  • Use accounting software systems to process and record financial transactions
  • Identify and address any gaps in the current accounting processes and propose improvements
  • Document all new and updated accounting processes for reference and training purposes
  • Assist in the clean-up of chart of accounts and general ledger as needed
  • Collaborate with the team to assist with financial planning and budget management
  • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on their status
  • Process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain accurate customer credit records and resolve any customer inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
  • Experience with all Accounting Functions
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Financial Close Process
  • Familiarity with Monthly Financial Close operations
  • Ability to manage and maintain the General Ledger
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks Online
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to accounting and financial management.
