Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller is responsible for closely monitoring the financial health across the Toronto Grace Healthcare Network and works collaboratively with external partners and internal leadership teams. The Controller manages Financial Reporting and General Accounting which includes the Treasury, Internal Controls, Accounts Payable and Payroll functions. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic team of highly motivated individuals who are committed to process improvements and enjoy working with an interdisciplinary team.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA CA with 3+ years in a Manager or Senior Manager of Assurance/Audit capacity in an Accounting firm with 10+ years proven accounting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an accounting or business program.
  • Experience managing a group of 2 or more professional staff.
  • Accounting experience in a large complex Healthcare environment considered an asset.
  • Experience converting complex data into clear and concise information for clients with varying degrees of financial knowledge.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills; solid business analysis with the ability to effectively facilitate group discussion and build consensus.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and creative problem-solving combined with exceptional tactical implementation and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to solve and prioritize a varied and heavy workload in a changing and fast paced environment.
  • Proven experience working with diverse groups of people and confident in presenting ideas and plans to senior management.
  • Verified ability to inspire, motivate and lead a service-oriented, customer-focused, high-performance team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of change management and proven ability to facilitate ongoing process improvements e.g., identification and adoption of enabling technology.
