Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our team at our head office in Mississauga, ON. The Controller will play a critical role in overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing key insights for decision-making. This is a full-time permanent position, offering the opportunity to contribute to our rapidly growing company and potentially grow into higher leadership roles.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Oversee accounting operations: Manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Financial leadership: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including financial statement preparation and tax filings.
- Budgeting and forecasting: Manage the development and monitoring of annual budgets, forecasts, and performance reports, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Internal controls: Design and maintain an effective internal control environment to ensure the accuracy of financial records and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Audit and compliance: Coordinate external audits, prepare for audits, and ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations.
- Strategic support: Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to support business decision-making.
- System improvements: Lead and implement financial system upgrades and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Team leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.
- Operation improvement: Improve efficiency of accounting operation, streamline operation and process flow to best suit the business needs.
