Job Description:
This role is a 1-year contract position.

Controller, Special Projects Accountabilities

  • Manage the Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations process based on the department’s requirements.
  • Develop and implement a standardized account reconciliation template and process including frequency, approvals, and escalations.
  • Manage the Month End Close Process Project to facilitate process improvement and efficiencies while maintaining internal controls.
  • Ad hoc request as required.

Controller, Special Projects Knowledge and Skills

  • University degree in Accounting/Business
  • CPA designation.
  • 5+ years of management experience in an accounting department.
  • Proven track record to document and drive process improvements and efficiencies
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team on projects and initiatives.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing a team of accountants.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving process improvements
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and controls
  • Retail experience
  • Experience working in a large organization with many legal entities.
