Description:
We are seeking a Controller/VP of Finance to join our team in San Mateo, CA. This role is pivotal in our food services industry. You will be responsible for implementing inventory processes, producing monthly reports, managing daily accounting and budgeting tasks, and providing support through various business acquisitions. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation of inventory processes for the company.
- Generate and analyze monthly reports and metrics for performance evaluation.
- Manage daily accounting operations ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Handle budgeting tasks, ensuring financial discipline and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide support during business acquisitions and aid in the deal-making process.
- Work effectively within a family-run business environment.
- Proficient in QuickBooks software for financial management tasks.
- Experience with food service operations, demonstrating a solid understanding of the industry.
- Strong grasp of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) principles and calculations as it related to food services.
- Demonstrated ability to develop financial strategies, monitor budgets, and manage financial risks.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, accounting, and audit coordination.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and guide a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting financial data and metrics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel for financial modeling and forecasting.
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to comply with legal, company, and industry regulations.
