The Controls & Compliance Senior Associate position is accountable for maintaining and ensuring compliances of all SOX and policy requirements for all European entities. Be one of the main contacts for internal and external audit and work closely together with them. Support of SOX controls implementation of newly acquired businesses.
Controls & Compliance Senior Associate

Main responsibilities:

  • Oversee and own the SOX Risk and Controls matrix of the SSC Budapest.
  • Conduct the quarterly SOX self-testing for all processes handled by the SSC Budapest.
  • Update the SOX deficiency and statutory Financial Statement tracker.
  • Conduct peer reviews of SOX self-testing performed by factories and support with their SOX self-testing.
  • Execute quarterly WF.1 control testing and User Admin report testing.
  • Perform annual User Access and SOD review.
  • Support other SOX controls testing as needed.
  • Review wording and align RCM’s for all European entities to ensure we have a consistent method.
  • Be the point of contact for internal and external audits for SOX testing and support with document requests.
  • Reporting directly to the European financial controller

What we are looking for:

  • College/University degree in Finance or Economics or related field is required
  • 3-5+ years of experience in big 4 audit firm
  • Strong process, SOX control and compliance understanding
  • Fluency in written & spoken English
  • Strong analytical skills, structured way of thinking
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and general Microsoft product knowledge
  • Confident in using ERP systems
  • Reliable, precise personality
  • Attention to details
  • Ability to meet priorities and deadlines, and to work under time pressure

Nice to have:

  • ACCA/Chartered accountant qualification
  • Any additional European language knowledge is a plus
