Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE AT BAXTER:

Accountable for engineering design, analysis, or experimentation and for developing/improving technologies used to manufacture medical products. May have complete project responsibility for significant projects within specialized area as well as automation and PLC’s controls. Accountable for integration of existing processes (via transfer from other Baxter sites) and development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for mechanical devices

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Work with maintenance personnel to provide technical support for troubleshooting automated equipment failures in manufacturing processes.
May supervise and/or give technical and safety direction or guidance to technical contributors, technicians, designers, drafters, model makers and others.
Works with external suppliers to exchange information and assist with complex technical problems. Reviews and evaluates vendor quotes for design and implementation of new equipment, ensures compliance with specifications and timelines in the development of new equipment.
Performs feasibility analysis, designs, implements, and validates automated equipment/systems as part of cost reduction projects (defects, labor).
Support in integration of new and existing processes (through transfer from other manufacturing sites or introduction of new products) and development and continuous improvement of mechanical device manufacturing processes
Collaborates with manufacturing engineering team in the development and upgrade of internally designed machines. Upgrades machine controls to the latest PLC controls, according to established software procedures.
Design and implementation of fixtures/tools and production inspection equipment as needed.
Develops, modifies software and applications according to standard operating procedures and QSR’s elements.
Productivity and efficiency monitoring of manufacturing equipment, tracking of downtime and corrective actions, including OEE of manufacturing equipment.
Cycle time improvements through either automation or semi automation of the machines and equipment.
Drive output per person (OPP) improvements through automation of the existing equipment or developing new ones
Performs equipment validation in accordance with the guidelines of CFR 820.75.
