This leading manufacturer is searching for an experienced Controls and Automation Engineer to support their modern highly automated manufacturing plant
Controls Engineer – Manufacturing

Location: Telford
Night Shift: 37.5 Hours per week working Monday - Friday
Working as part of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineer team you will be responsible for supporting current automated manufacturing process and equipment, leading continuous improvement projects and take a leading role in the specification of new automated production lines or assembly cells across the facility.

EXPERIENCE:

Applications are sought from experienced Control Engineers, Automation Engineers, Mechatronic Engineers or Multiskilled Maintenance Engineers seeking to become controls experts.
o Control Systems / Electrical Engineering qualified to a minimum HNC level or equivalent.
o High level of proficiency working with PLC and robot automation in a manufacturing environment. Site utilises ABB Robots (IRC5), Siemens S7 PLC, Siemens WinCC , TAI Portal development
o Keen understanding of control systems, coupled with strong skills in root cause analysis and 8D.
o Experience in the implementation and optimisation of vision systems, demonstrating a knack for innovative problem-solving.
o Proactive approach to eliminating non-conforming product risks through automated solutions and a proven track record in supporting new product launches.
o Able to work permanent night shifts -37.5 Hours per week working Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

o Develop cutting-edge controls improvements to enhance overall process efficiencies.
o Diagnose and deliver hands-on solutions to complex automation (PLC, HMI, robotic, MES) challenges, ensuring sustainable and efficient performance.
o Work with the Manufacturing Engineering and NPI teams to define and implement automated solutions that drive process improvement strategies, focusing on uptime, quality improvements, and cycle time reduction.
o Lead Continuous Improvement activities, leveraging your expertise to drive department-wide enhancements.
o Support and provide expertise to plant maintenance team investigating, troubleshooting and resolving complex automation failures.
