Georgia-Pacific is seeking a qualified professional for the role of Controls Engineer within our corporate Process Control Center of Excellence team. This position will primarily focus on supporting and improving control systems and automation in our Corrugated manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will leverage their engineering expertise to solve problems, enhance the reliability and functionality of existing control systems, and contribute to the design and installation of new systems.
WHO YOU ARE (BASIC QUALIFICATIONS)
- Technical/Vocational degree, or an Associate’s Degree or higher.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in Process Control/Automation with a focus on PLCs, including troubleshooting, configuration, and HMI design.
- Ability to travel to facilities for onsite support (up to 40%).

Responsibilities:
- Ensure the facility’s control systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.
- Provide troubleshooting and support for manufacturing operations across multiple facilities.
- Guide manufacturing operations on the selection and implementation of process control technologies.
- Design, program, modify, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
- Pursue engineering solutions to resolve equipment deficiencies.
