Make an impact
- As a Controls Software Engineer in our Light Goods Conveyor Product Center you deliver the product solution, fully tested, commissioned and documented for our international customers. You will work with our different generations of our solution QuickMove.
- In this role you are responsible for software engineering of control systems for fully automated Warehouse Control Systems and in the same way specification, design, coding and test of controls software is part of your job.
- Your position as Controls Software Engineer is a mixture of office, lab and travelling activities
- Furthermore you participate in requirements discussions and write specifications for our different solutions in our Light Goods Conveyor Division
- Our second and third level support for support colleagues is provided by you and in addition to that you represent Swisslog at internal and external meetings.
Application Requirements
What you need to succeed
- The basis of your profile is a completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical/Automation Engineering or successful completed training as a Technician or comparable experience.
- Your passion for control technology is reflected in your career or history and you enjoy working with your direct colleagues and from other teams.
- You have experience in programming with Structured Text language or SCL and in addition to that you are able to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings.
- Furthermore, practical experience of electrical/controls engineering & electrical installation is part of your CV.
- Excellent word processing and spread sheet skills characterize you.
- You have sound knowledge of at least one of the following hardware platforms: Beckhoff TwinCAT or Siemens S7.
- The knowledge of Industrial Ethernet and modern field buses (EtherCAT, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, AS-i), AC drives and design experience of HMI systems would be an asset.
You have a flexible willingness to travel, which will always be discussed and as a necessary supplement you speak business fluent English and German.
