JOB DESCRIPTION / JUSTIFICATION:

We are looking for Operations Manager to manage and support daily operations of the Converting department for our state-of-the-art Consumer Tissue Products manufacturing facility located in Anderson, SC. This position will be responsible for managing the operations in line with business goals by ensuring the efficient and safe operation of equipment and systems that meet safety cost, quality, consumer, and customer requirements. The Operations Manager is the primary leader and responsible for all converting production activities. Leads operations team, ensures safety, quality and on-time delivery. Implement world class manufacturing systems and tools based on TPM and other Continuous improvement methodologies.
*The whole need for this role is to get someone to help turnaround our converting department, so expertise in this area is critical. They will be managing upwards of 500 people. Recent converting with paper is a must. *

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for setting the converting department safety vision and expectations. Instills and exemplifies an overall safety mindset for all team members.
  • Responsible to implement world class manufacturing systems and tools mainly based on TPM and other CI methodologies.
  • Ensuring production and delivery of the highest quality products at the lowest costs, consistent with customer requirements, company plans and profit objectives.
  • Follows, Implements, and ensures the manufacturing excellence and compliance model.
  • Responsible for the converting department staffing, operational efficiency, maintenance, and cost control measures, including best practices in recruiting, training and retaining of staff members.
  • Developing innovative policies, methods and procedures that add value for the facility.
  • Maximizes the use of existing operational software (SAP) by implementing processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization.
  • Analyzes, and communicates operational metrics to quantify plant performance.
  • Evaluate general and specific business conditions as they relate to operational issues and keeps Senior Management team fully advised on these matters.
  • Nurture the collaborative environment by promoting transparency and communicating positively and effectively.
  • Lead and manage direct reports including coaching, performance feedback and incentives.
  • Ensures training, employee development, and work systems enable all employees to maximize their contribution to business success and contribute to productivity efforts.
