Description:

Job Introduction As a Cook at HMP Altcourse, you’ll play a crucial role in supervising and coaching prisoners in the production of 1200 plus meals 3 times a day.
You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of food safety, hygiene, allergen awareness. Your commitment to overseeing cleaning procedures, stock rotation, and adherence to Health & Safety procedures will not only impact the daily operations of the kitchen but will also foster a positive and secure environment.You will be working alongside prisoners.
If you have a City and Guilds706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Level 1 and 2 diploma in food production and cooking, coupled with industrial catering experience, and share our passion for creating positive change, we invite you to be a part of our team. The Ideal Candidate:We would encourage you to apply if you meet the following criteria:

  • You will need City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Level 1 and 2 in food production and cooking.
  • Some industrial catering experience is desirable but not necessary.
  • It would be advantageous if you have experience instructing/supporting people with challenging behaviour.
  • Experience in a prison or forces environment is desirable but not necessary.
