Maruia Hot Springs is an award-winning hot springs eco-resort located in the center of the South Island 2.5 hours from Christchurch and 45 minutes from Reefton in the heart of the Lewis Pass National Park. It is a remote location that is completely off the grid in the mountains surrounded by beach forest and rivers.
We require a full time cook to join our team.
Plan and organize the cooking of food in a dining or catering establishment

Tasks:

• Food preparation for restaurant and staff meals
• Helping to plan menus
• Preparation of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Discussing food preparation issues with Manager kitchen and waiting staff
• Baking and making pastry desserts
• Following hygiene regulations
• May help to train other staff
• May freeze and preserve foods
• Cleaning of kitchen and washing dishes
• Team work and leadership as we are all working together in a remote area this is very important.

Applicant should be into health, interested in exercise classes and hot pools/saunas etc..

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must have formal training or 2 years + experience in kitchens and cafes.
