Salary: $53 090.34 * annual salary based on 40 hour work week*

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the preparation of nutritious breakfast, lunch and snacks.
  • Providing feedback to the Program Director regarding the menus and make recommendations for changes or substitutions.
  • Preparing special diet menus as required and note substitutes on the posted menu.
  • Checking the ingredients in food that is being served, to ensure safety for children with allergies.
  • Ensuring the proper storage and preparation of all food in accordance with the Food Handlers Certificate Course and the requirements of the Region of Peel Heath Department
  • Responsibility for the cleanliness of the kitchen and food storage areas and perform housekeeping duties as per the PLASP sanitary practices.
  • Assisting / completing weekly food orders.
  • Helping in the planning and implementation for special events and recognition events of school staff.
  • Working cooperatively with other program staff in establishing and maintaining a safe, warm, and caring environment in which a high quality Early Learning and Child Care programs can operate.
  • Working with program staff to supervise the children as required for maintaining child staff ratios.
  • Following all PLASP Health & Safety policy and procedures as outlined in the Health and Safety Manual
  • Being aware of all emergency procedures and to be capable of participating in these, and ensuring the health and safety of the children, and centre safety, is maintained at all times
