North Coast - Local Land Services are seeking applicants with strong connections to Aboriginal people and networks in North Coast NSW to coordinate engagement activities that consider and appreciate cultural values and traditional ecological knowledge in the management of agricultural land issues for environmental, production and biosecurity outcomes.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
The role provides a range of engagement, project management and support services across North Coast region core service delivery. The ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate and support the delivery of Aboriginal community engagement, training and awareness relating to Local Land Services priorities is a key requirement.
The role facilitates activities to increase staff awareness, capability and commitment to cultural competency and meaningful Aboriginal community engagement and supports implementation of the Local Land Services Aboriginal Engagement Strategy and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage programs.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and implementing a regional Aboriginal engagement strategy that aims to build strong connections between Aboriginal and Traditional Owner groups and North Coast Local Land Services
- Building and strengthening relationships between Local Land Services and the Aboriginal community
- Facilitating linkages between Aboriginal and Traditional Owner groups, Local Land Services and other key land managers
- Facilitating engagement with Aboriginal Community groups and individuals and North Coast Local Land Services to encourage employment ’On Country’ and to assist in including diversity and cultural advice on our projects
- Identifying opportunities to engage Aboriginal people and businesses
- Organising events and undertaking administrative program management tasks
- Providing support to North Coast LLS staff to increase awareness of and capacity to protect cultural values in the North Coast landscape
You’ll also need to have a current NSW Driver Licence, and the capacity and willingness to travel throughout the region as required.
