Description:
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2–3 years of experience in program coordination, alumni relations, career services, or related fields, ideally within the nonprofit, education, or youth development sectors.
- Demonstrated experience working with youth from underserved communities or a strong understanding of STEM barriers impacting these communities.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing workshops, events, or career development activities that support youth or young adults, especially in STEM contexts.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging diverse groups of participants, industry partners, and post-secondary institutions.
- Familiarity with issues related to post-secondary access, career readiness, and STEM diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Comfort using productivity, project management, and virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Asana) and willingness to leverage new technologies and platforms to enhance alumni engagement.
- Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to incorporating feedback and data into continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and facilitate the Connect program schedule, including academic support sessions, leadership and personal development workshops, and job readiness activities aligned with fall, winter, spring, and summer themes.
- Organize events such as the Fall Post-Secondary Bootcamp, the Winter Visionary Summit, and Spring/Summer networking socials, ensuring each session provides actionable strategies, career exploration, and networking opportunities for alumni.
- Intermittently support a team of program staff to implement successful programming by fostering a high-performing environment that encourages effective youth engagement and innovation
- Collaborate with industry professionals, post-secondary institutions, mentors, and community partners to secure guest speakers, internships, and other career-related resources that enhance alumni academic and professional development.
- Manage and maintain participant records, event logistics, registration processes, and feedback collection to inform continuous improvement of programming.
- Support the development of tools, resources, and strategies that help alumni navigate post-secondary and career pathways—fostering confidence, competence, and a strong professional network in STEM fields.
- Communicate program updates, outcomes, and impact stories to internal and external stakeholders, contributing to a culture of transparency, collaboration, and results-driven practice.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for new partnerships, funding, and resource-sharing that strengthen VoS’s alumni engagement initiatives and broaden the support available to Connect participants and other alumni.
- Support the development of internal staff within the alumni cohort by providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities, ensuring they feel supported and empowered in their roles.
