WORK ARRANGEMENTS
This regular, full-time (35 hours per week) position is available starting July 22, 2024. Regular hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. No modified schedule/Modified schedule is available. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required. The position is located at the New Westminster campus; however, successful candidate must be available for occasional work at the Coquitlam campus.

Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
The Coordinator, Business Development Events is responsible for the coordination of all Business Development Events and creating event-based programming to increase participation in the Career Centre Programs. Provides exceptional client-centered service on a consistent basis to all stakeholder groups.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- A minimum of two years of related work experience and completion of one-year post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and work experience in a post-secondary education system.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to respond diplomatically in demanding situations involving internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills, and ability to diplomatically supervise in a union environment.
- Ability to develop and implement engaging events-based programming suitable for a variety of stakeholders.
- A team player promoting a positive and professional work environment
- Experience liaising with a multitude of stakeholders, and willingness to be collaborative and hands-on.
- Ability to be adaptable and maintain composure and performance levels in a dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities and challenges.
- Ability to perform well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and recognize changing priorities
- Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively and to coordinate with a variety of individuals both within and outside the department in a supportive and efficient manner.
- Detail-oriented and strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft suite programs, as well as experience with database creation and management and Adobe suite products; experience with Orbis is an asset.
- Understanding of a variety of social media channels to promote events is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential files and records.
