Description:
SUMMARY
The Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly organized and proactive Coordinator, Business Operations to support the Chief of the Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Care. In addition to directly supporting the Section Chief, the Business Operations Coordinator will provide general administrative support to the section, ensuring efficient and effective operations. This role requires exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
This position may offer the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule to be determined at a later date.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two years of relevant experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior administrative experience managing schedules.
- Ability to work independently, have good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:
- Manages the Section Chief’s calendar, including scheduling meetings, coordinating appointments, and resolving conflicts.
- Prepares and organizes materials for meetings, presentations, and reports, ensuring the Chief is well-prepared for all engagements.
- Handles travel arrangements, including booking flights, accommodations, and preparing detailed itineraries.
- Assists with scheduling, organizing, and supporting section meetings, events, and activities, including taking minutes and distributing follow-up materials.
- Provides administrative support to the section’s faculty and staff, including handling requests, coordinating communications, and assisting with day-to-day tasks.
- Oversees general office operations, including ordering supplies, managing equipment, and ensuring a well-organized workspace.
- Performs other administrative duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the section.
- Actively contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment within the section and the Department of Medicine.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
