QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
- Successful completion of Nursing Assistant (NA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN), Patient Care Assistant (PCA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Health Care Technician or other clinical care program and / or previous clinical experience
- Minimum one year prior radiology/medical experience in a health care facility
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- NA, CNA, PCA, EMT or nursing / medical student
- BLS through the American Heart Association
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:
- Shift working, 9:00 5:00pm each day
- Monday-Friday
- FT
Responsibilities:
- Performs all Patient Care Associate functions as a member of the health care team and performs selected patient care activities under the direction and supervision of the registered nurs
- Responsible for identified critical unit support activities and identified critical clerical/administrative functions as directed
- Coordinates all patient appointments after gathering and receiving approval from radiologist
- Works closely with nursing and technical staff to provide a caring and smooth flow in patient care area
- Point person for staff for patient information regarding all communication with ordering physician offices and internal staff
- Responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.
