Description:

Duties/Pligte

  • Reporting to the head of the DU;
  • Providing and advising on appropriate co-curricular, learning, teaching and assessment support with universal access and universal design principles in mind, as these relate to disability inclusion campus wide;
  • Responsible for awareness-raising and training with staff concerning reasonable accommodation for students regarding learning, teaching and assessment;
  • Performing administrative tasks, report writing and record keeping following individual sessions with students.
  • Rapporteer aan die hoof van die EG;
  • Voorsien en adviseur oor toepaslike ko-kurrikulêre leer, onderrig and assesserings ondersteuning, met universele toeganklike en -ontwerp beginsels, soos toepaslik vir kampus-wye gestremdheidsinklusiwiteit;
  • Verantwoordelik vir bewusmakingen opleiding van personeel oor redelike voorsiening vir studente betreffende leer, onderring en assessering;
  • Voer administratiewe take uit, verslagskrywing en rekordhouding na individuele sessies met studente.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

  • A bachelour’s degree in occupational therapy;
  • Computer skills: good knowledge and application of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel);
  • At least two years’ work experience and / knowledge of any field of disability;
  • Familiarity with the higher education context, student learning and information systems;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Have knowledge of universal access and effective communication skills to deal with a wide range of stakeholders on campus in relation to universal access: Facilities Management, residences, Faculties, open spaces/walkways, etc.
  • ’n Baccalaureusgraad in arbeidsterapie;
  • Rekenaarvaardighede: goeie kennis en toepassing van Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint en Excel);
  • Minstens twee jaar se werkservaring / kennis van enige veld van gestremdheid;
  • Wees vertroud met die hoër onderwys konteks, studente leer- en inligtingstelsels;
  • Uitstekende skriftelike en mondelinge kommunikasievaardighede;
  • Besit kennis oor universele toegang en effektiewe kommunikasie vaardighede om met `n verskeidenheid belanghebbendes op kampus ten opsigte van universele toegang te werk:Fasiliteitsbestuur, koshuise, Fakulteite, oop spasies/staproetes, ens.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling

  • Familiarity with assistive technologies as a learning support to students;
  • Workshop skills for advocacy work, as well as skills training for inclusive disability practices.
  • Vertroud met steuntegnologië as leerondersteuning vir studente;
  • Werkswinkelvaardighede vir voorspraakwerk, sowel as vaardigheidsopleiding vir gestremdheidsinklusiewe praktyke.
