COORDINATOR, EDUCATIONAL AND BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS
1 – Permanent Position

Responsibilities:
OVERALL PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Manager, Educational and Business Partnerships (EBP), the Coordinator, Educational and Business Partnerships, has board-wide responsibility for consulting with internal and external parties to facilitate the development, implementation and monitoring of educational and business partnerships. to support the overall goal of increasing educational resources to the Board.
The Coordinator, EBP will:
- Negotiate with local businesses, community agencies, industry, government institutions and other organizations to support the overall goal of increasing resources for the Board;
- Develop and implement comprehensive internal and external communication strategies to promote and disseminate educational and business partnership resources to the system;
- Compile and organize background/research materials for educational and business partnerships and projects within the department; and
- Review and approve of distribution of materials, donation, grants, employee discount vendors, fundraising, sponsorships, and business partnerships and other resource/revenue generation initiatives in support of the TDSB.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Negotiate educational and business partnership (EBP) agreements and opportunities between internal/external parties e n s uring the b e s t p os s i b l e b e n e f i ts f or the s c h o ol a n d/ o r t h e B o a r d ;
- Draft language to reflect negotiated agreement terms and to attain concurrence;
- Perform due diligence, monitor, assess, and analyze impact, and conduct evaluations regarding implementation of agreement terms;
- Oversee implementation, review and renewal of agreements including recommending updates/changes/renewal or conclusion of partnerships;
- Collaborate with the Manager in assessing educational and business partnership initiatives with the intent of achieving equity and sustainability and provide reports to the Board as part of the department’s accountability;
- Assist with the implementation and updating of Board procedures for managing external partnerships which sets the TDSB standard for educational partnership activities, including agreement forms and assessment tools;
- Develop strong networks with the private sector, charitable and not-for-profit sectors to facilitate development of local resources for schools, the Board, and programs;
- Develop, implement and update a co m prehe n s i v e d at a b a s e f or partnerships, d i s tr i b u t i on of m at e r i a l s , d o n at i o n s , e m p l o y ee d i sc o u nt and f u n dra i s i ng v e n d o rs (products/ser vi c es), g ra n ts, sp o nsors a n d o th e r n e e d ed su p p o rts;
- Collaborate with Board, school administration, vendors and others to document goals and objectives, roles and responsibilities, terms and timelines, access, and appropriateness of agreement content;

- Consult with central departments(e.g. Legal, Risk Management, Communications) and school administration to ensure adherence with Board policy and procedures;
- Conduct labour market analysis to inform program and partnership development;
- Provide education, direction and support to employees in the development and implementation of educational and business partnership programs;
- Support educational partnership activities, including coordination of celebration and recognition activities/events for partners;
- Design, create and produce presentations, promotional materials and information session to promote educational and business partnerships to generate needed resources;
- Develop and support the EBP website(s) to disseminate information and implement various communication strategies;

- Monitor, assess and evaluate educational partnerships; and
- Other duties as assigned.
- University degree in a related discipline (Business Administration, Education) with four years of progressively responsible business planning and community development experience in a business development capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

- Experience working collaboratively with community groups and businesses;

- Working knowledge and understanding of Ministry curriculum and assessment policies, school board and Ministry of Education course profiles, TDSB policies and procedures;
- Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to convey ideas at all levels within the organization and within the various disciplines and to improve overall communication between stakeholders;
- Excellent writing, to oversee the production of detailed documentation including public relations/promotional materials;
- Strong research, problem solving and analytical skills;
- Strong public speaking, presentation and training skills;
- Demonstrated facilitation, consultation and mediation skills;
- Business, political and educational acumen;
- Knowledge of marketing trends and prior successful marketing experience;
- Proven ability in promoting equitable practices which value inclusiveness and diversity; and
- Advanced computer skills in the use of computer technology including MS Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Google products (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms) and internet;
