QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or in a field of study appropriate to the lead generation and prospecting 2-4 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in business development and competency in identifying the needs of employer partners.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills, coupled with the ability to establish, and respond to priorities in a fast-paced results-oriented setting.
  • Strong time management skills; able to multitask and stay detail oriented.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and at ease in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Very good knowledge (Level 5) of written and spoken English, good knowledge (Level 4) of written and spoken French.
  • Good knowledge - Intermediate level of Word and PowerPoint; advanced knowledge of Excel (ability to work with pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, etc.)
  • Able to rapidly learn and manage software & procedures used by the office.
  • Proficient with social tools, such as LinkedIn, Facebook etc.
  • Experience building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Approachable and able to build good rapport with others.
  • Able to command attention and manage group dynamics during presentation.
  • Experience in an academic setting is an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate new leads using cold calling, email marketing, social media, attending networking events and other relevant marketing channels, coordinating with University Communications Services as appropriate. Classify and qualify leads based on their needs and accordingly, take the necessary steps to convert hot leads and nurture warm and cold leads.
  • Organize and keep the lead status updated and manage the leads pipeline. Create lists of qualified prospects.
  • In collaboration with the Director and/or the Manager, Co-operative Education and Lead EL, participate in webinars, in-person events, conferences, and network with target audience to identify opportunities and work on tasks relevant to lead generation.
  • In collaboration with faculty members and staff from Faculties, Departments, Advancement, Office of Research, and the Office of Community Engagement, share information on existing and possible partnerships, with the aim of working together on proposals and leveraging opportunities.
  • Cultivate in-depth knowledge and understanding of programs to effectively communicate benefits of hiring Concordia students to the prospective organizations.
  • Research the target market during the lead generation activities to identify and learn about industries and specific needs. Maintain a working knowledge of local and national employment market trends and their actual and potential impact on the hiring of student interns. Contribute to the research and analysis of employment trends in the local business community.
  • Track and monitor activities and maintain KPIs for set targets.
  • Create and book pre-qualified leads and appointments for Program Coordinators, Manager and/or Director.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with other Concordia units and collaborate with the Co-operative Education and EL team, to align the Office’s activities in support of university priorities.
  • Manage special projects on behalf of the Director.
