Description:
The Environmental Affairs Coordinator at StandardAero will play a crucial role in managing and enhancing environmental practices to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental policies and procedures, conducting assessments, and promoting sustainability initiatives across operations. The Environmental Affairs Coordinator reports to the EHS & Sustainability Manager TPAF and has the responsibility for oversight of the Environmental Management System at all TPAF sites.
Position Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards.
- Monitor and report on environmental performance and compliance metrics.
- Prepare and submit environmental reports, permits, and documentation as required.
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Lead efforts to reduce waste, emissions, and energy consumption through innovative strategies and technologies.
- Conduct environmental assessments, audits, and inspections to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
- Analyze data and report on environmental performance, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.
- Provide training and support to employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Promote awareness of environmental issues and foster a culture of sustainability within the organization.
- Lead or support environmental projects and initiatives, including waste reduction programs, energy efficiency projects, and sustainability efforts.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement environmental improvements and innovations.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, environmental organizations, and community stakeholders on environmental matters.
- Stay informed about emerging environmental regulations, technologies, and trends to ensure proactive compliance and best practices.
- Model behaviors consistent with good quality, health and safety, and environmental management practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Post-secondary education in Environmental Science, Sustainable Design Engineering, Sustainable Business Leadership, or a related field is preferred and considered an asset.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in an environmental or related role, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Proven project management skills and experience leading environmental initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with environmental management software.
