Title: Coordinator, Environmental Assessments
Salary: $87,137 - $106,012 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Mon- Fri (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Metro Vancouver Office, located on the traditional, ancestral Coast Salish Territories of the Squamish, Musqueam & Tsleil-Wuatuth Nations –Hybrid (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy). Please note, this role will be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway, after Oct 2024

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Coordinator, Environmental Assessments, you will oversees the Environmental Contaminants Program and leads the development and implementation of the Baseline Contamination Program at FNHA. Reporting to the Provincial Manager, Environmental Public Health Services, the Environmental Contaminants Coordinator works with First Nations in BC and partners to address concerns about the effects of environmental contaminants by advising and administering funding towards work and projects related to environmental contaminants and impact assessments.

To be successful in this role you will have/be –

  • Minimum 5 years recent experience related to Environmental Health and contaminants.
  • Knowledge and/or lived experience of First Nations in BC, including the governance landscape, particularly as it relates to health and wellness Knowledge of and ability to develop curriculum in order to support departments and First Nations communities to submit deployment requests
  • Experience working with First Nations communities and/or organizations.
  • Human Health Risk Assessment and Impact Assessment experience is an asset.
  • Experience in Project Management is an asset
