Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as ‘The Food Bowl of Australia’ as around 25% of the total value of Victoria’s agricultural production is generated in this area.
Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.

Salary: $85,650.76 per annum

The Economic Development Department is seeking a highly motivated, organised and passionate person to take on the exciting full time permanent role of Coordinator - Events, Venues and Business Events.
This leadership role within the Major Events team involves the management of the region’s iconic event locations including the Shepparton Showgrounds, Tatura Park Exhibition and Event Complex and Victoria Park Lake. Major annual events held across these venues include International Dairy Week, Spring Car Nationals and the Shepparton Show just to name a few.
This role also plays a key role in the coordination, attraction and delivery of the region’s business event attraction program to drive promotion, business development and economic development to the region’s business event venues.
Key responsibilities of the role include: budget management, booking management, asset and equipment management, implementation of the venues’ business and marketing plans, key event venue account management coordination, representation on venue advisory committees, liaising with contractors and suppliers to ensure facilities are appropriately maintained and presented at a high standard to host major events.
Working closely with the Team Leader - Major Events on strategic planning, the role supervises and has the support of the Event Facilities Bookings and Support Officer.
