QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Possession of a valid New Jersey Driver s License and CDL with eligibility to be covered by RWJBH insurance carrier.
  • Ability to acquire certification for de-escalation training within ninety (90) days of hire.

Preferred:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of customer service, security experience, or prior military service preferred.
  • Experience in Security, Transportation, or Safety related field.
  • Strong command over verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving and, de-escalation skills.
  • Bilingual language skills to effectively communicate with a multilingual community preferred but not required. (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, Polish depending on facility needs.)
  • Great knowledge of auto mechanics.

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

  • 7:00am 5:00pm

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a safety experience advocate for patients, families and clients during follow-up conversations will all members of the leadership team.
  • Provides safe and dependable transportation for patients/families, clients and executives.
  • Provides transportation assistance for patients, as needed.
  • Coordinates transportation schedules.
  • Attends bi-weekly multi-disciplinary staff meetings.
  • Evaluates and responds in a timely manager to events and incidents in accordance with System policies.
  • Ensures all interactions are safe, transportation vehicles are maintained and keeps accurate participation records.
  • Monitors behavior of patients, families, and clients; reporting any observed incidences of inappropriate behavior.
  • Works in collaboration with security to de-escalate any observed inappropriate behavior.
  • Liaise with leadership to address complaints/concerns.
  • Responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.
  • Performs security duties as needed and other as assigned.
  • Trans staff to project a positive and passionate approach to all patients, families and clients.
