Job Description:
We are seeking a talented Coordinator, HR Strategic Initiatives to join the Organizational Development team within the People and Culture Department.
Reporting to the Director, Organizational Development, and in collaboration with our exceptional team, the incumbent will coordinate programs to support and engage employees throughout their careers at the College, including new employee orientation, employee recognition, educational benefits, and wellness programs and offboarding processes. The Coordinator will propose program improvements, oversee the departmental SharePoint site and communication plan, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the OD team’s alignment with the College’s performance and strategic goals. Additionally., this role provides research, analysis, and support for total rewards programs and other P&C initiatives.
This position requires extensive experience in planning, creating, and executing events, including vendor management and promotion. The ideal candidate is a communicative, creative, resourceful, and solution-oriented team player with a strong ability to think strategically and drive impactful results.
Qualifications Required:

Education & Experience:

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in human resource management, communications, or business management.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of recent and directly related experience, preferably in total rewards and employee engagement in large and/or public sector organizations.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of human resources legislation and professional practices relating to labour relations, recruitment, HR planning and development, occupational health and safety, and total rewards.
  • Knowledge of content management systems, social media outlets, and ERP systems.
  • Advanced proficiency of standard computer applications including word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), database management (Access), presentations (PowerPoint), organization charts (Visio), and collaborative platforms (SharePoint).

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate through a variety of outlets.
  • Ability to establish collaborative relationships with senior management, employees, external agencies, other post-secondary institutions, and/or the general public.
  • Strong project management skills and organizational skills (planning, scheduling, coordinating).
  • Ability to work independently and to be a self-starter.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment.
  • Effective time management skills in meeting deadlines, prioritizing, and coping with interruptions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality through tact and discretion when conducting research or working with confidential information.
  • Ability to perform research, problem solve, organize material, conduct analysis, and evaluate data.
  • Ability to use sound judgment, consistent logic, rationality, and objectivity in decision-making.
  • Ability to perform routine and complex work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to concentrate for long periods of time.

Salary Range:
$37.91 - $55.60 per hour

Compensation beyond the mid-point requires approval by the Public Sector Employers’ Council Secretariat (PSEC).
