JOB SUMMARY

The Coordinator, Industrial Hygiene is responsible for supporting the CN Industrial Hygiene programs. The role is accountable for supporting activities including the Emergency Escape Breathing Apparatus (EEBA) program coordination, audiometric and respiratory fit testing scheduling and follow ups, industrial hygiene data entry and quality check, Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) information processing, data management, and contributing to the completion of regulatory reporting. In addition, the incumbent provides support to Industrial Hygiene field operations, outreach programs, and regulatory compliance.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience

Professional or Customer-Oriented Environment

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional or customer-orientated environment

Education/Certification/Designation

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)

Technical Skills/Knowledge

Regulatory Requirements through CN Systems

  • Perform ongoing and periodic reviews of regulatory required EEBAs to ensure compliance
  • Assist in reporting requirements for EEBA program compliance
  • Perform ongoing and periodic asset management of inventory data of EEBAs issued to all the United States (U.S.) train crews
  • Support groups with Enablon application and reporting requirements
  • Support and assist operations with troubleshooting other issues relate to the EEBA program across the network
  • Order and ship EEBAs based on inventory data, return defective or retired units to manufacturer for refurbishing, and tracking of associated costs
  • Handle procurement of media for ongoing sampling and monitoring activities
  • Coordinate equipment calibration, repair and maintenance
  • Update CN’s chemical inventory system (SDSs) to meet regulatory requirements
  • Assist groups with demonstration of SDS database and helping during audit

Data Management for Regulatory Reporting Requirements

  • Handle Industrial Hygiene project information and report updates for distribution to various stakeholders
  • Assist in the tracking, compiling, and retention of statistics and data for use in regulatory, industry, and corporate reporting
  • Assist in creation and mailing of notification letters, when required
  • Support the completion and retention of project reports
  • Extract, collate, and post information for access by impacted stakeholders
  • Support the team with entry of corrective actions during audits or regulatory inspection

Responsibilities:

Program Coordination

  • Coordinate sampling and monitoring projects with CN contractors and vendors
  • Assist in creating yearly compliance schedules with various departments across Canada and the U.S. for audiometric and respiratory fit testing
  • Assist in coordinating site activities with third party contractors
  • Provide support with reporting on these compliance programs at various intervals and requests
  • Coordinate with various functions ensuring regulatory required testing and follow up testing is completed
  • Assist the Industrial Hygiene team with submitting bid requests and awarding proposals for industrial hygiene work across the network
  • Support the team with department project statistics and workplan progress
  • Assist in validating industrial hygiene contractors and consultants
  • Assist in the tracking of reports, recipients, requests and provide information on the process and recipients to stakeholders
  • Support the team with processing invoices in financial software systems such as SAP, Fieldglass and Tradeshift

Working Conditions
The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday occasionally working outside of regular business hours. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress. The position may require minimal travel (up to 10%) with Canada and the U.S.
