ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS
Pre-employment testing for this position may include written and oral testing, to assist in determining the successful applicant. A passing score will be considered to be 70% on each test with the highest score considered in the award.
Prior to starting the position, the successful candidate must provide, at their own expense, the following:
- A current (with the last 180 days) satisfactory criminal reference check, with vulnerable sector screening directly from a Canadian Police Information Centre. Criminal Records
Checks from third party agencies are not acceptable. Applicants who have been employed with the Municipality within the last year and have provided a criminal reference check within the last 365 days are exempt from providing another criminal reference check. * A current Driver’s Abstract and proof of a valid Ontario Class “G” Drivers License.

Responsibilities:
As a Coordinator, Recreation, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Contribute to the day-to-day supervision, administration and delivery of recreation programs and services.
- Assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of recreation programs, to ensure the highest quality service.
- Assisting with the supervision, development and evaluation of staff in an environment that requires on-going coaching and mentoring of young workers.
- Recommending and contributing content to staff manuals, staff resources and promotional material.
- Responding to general and program specific inquiries using strong communication skills, listening effectively to concerns, and providing high quality customer feedback.
- Ensuring compliance with Ontario Health regulations and their relevant legislation; corporate and departmental policies and procedures; health and safety initiatives.
- This position has a special focus on managing the inclusion services program, fostering key partnerships and opportunities:
o Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective execution of inclusion support, adapted programs, and therapeutic recreation promoting inclusivity and diversity.
o Primary point of contact for inclusion support requests for all municipal recreation programs (child, youth, adult, older adult, aquatics, fitness, etc.)
o Contribute to the development and refinement of inclusion support request processes, policies, practices and tools.
o Maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders and clients, ensuring effective communication and timely follow-up on inclusion support requests and inquires.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
