Description:
The School of Agriculture is seeking a Rodeo Coordinator to oversee and coordinate all rodeo activities, including scheduling, resource coordination, event execution, facility management, and community engagement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of a post-secondary diploma in a related field, a degree is preferred
- Minimum of five years of experience working in the rodeo/equine industry
- Demonstrated ability to build positive and long-lasting business relationships with key stakeholders that contribute to the success and development of the Lakeland College Rodeo program
- A passion for the sport of rodeo and an ability to progress the rodeo program at Lakeland College
- A commitment to the safety and welfare of participants, volunteers, spectators, and livestock involved with the Lakeland College Rodeo program
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all equine and rodeo activities, including planning, organizing, and executing events, ensuring the welfare and care of the animals, coordinating schedules and resources (including stock), and maintaining high standards of safety and quality throughout all operations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the local community and alumni by organizing events, networking opportunities, and outreach programs. Act as a liaison to build partnerships, encourage community engagement, and create a supportive network of alumni who can contribute to the program’s success through mentorship, sponsorship, and other collaborative efforts
- Administration of scholarships, in conjunction with Student Services, including the application process, selection of recipients, and distribution of funds, to support and reward deserving students involved in the rodeo program
- Ensure compliance with college policies and regulations through procedures aligned with current standards, regulations, best practices, and stakeholder expectations
- Promote rodeos and the team through effective marketing strategies using social media, email campaigns, traditional advertising, media partnerships, and engaging content to boost event attendance and visibility
- Recruit, select, and onboard qualified coaching staff members who will effectively train and mentor the rodeo team
