Required:

  • Master s degree required

Preferred:

  • Experience in public health or healthcare data management with understanding of healthcare quality is preferred

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Shift working, 8:00am-4:30pm

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in the communication and coordination of clinical services initiatives for performance improvement via Peer Review, Mortality Review, Root cause analysis and Apparent Cause Analysis
  • Support and participates in the peer review, QAPI, Patient Safety committee(s) and implements the action plan disseminated by the committee
  • Support and schedules SEC which is Safety Event Classification meeting bi-monthly
  • Collaborates with other departments to create and maintain safe and efficient practice workflows by understanding data for mortality, readmissions, safe and effective care, timeliness and efficiency
  • Assists Director in the development of key clinical indicators for routine monitoring of performance and communicates performance internally
  • Works with Director on clinical data projects aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and CMS star ratings
  • Creates teaching material to support organizational needs
  • Plays a critical role in on-board training of new clinical staff and supports in the orientation process for high reliability organization.
  • Assist in EMR reviews to identify potential gaps in patient care
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and the healthcare field
  • Requires proficient computer skills, particularly with spreadsheets, data analysis, and presentation tools along with basic skills to navigate through electronic medical records and various surveillance systems
  • Requires high level of analytical skills necessary to plan, collect, analyze, and report data.
  • Requires well developed communication skills, verbal and written, to effectively inform, instruct, and facilitate matters of infection prevention
  • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with others.
  • Requires ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all information utilized within the department
