Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Purchasing Agent to ensure the smooth execution of supplier purchase orders, maintaining order integrity, and facilitating timely delivery to our distribution centers and end customers. This role is crucial to our Supply Chain operation, acting as a liaison with suppliers, resolving issues, and expediting shipments for an exceptional customer experience.
Location: Onsite in Pittsburgh, PA or Ottawa, Canada
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day execution of purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness from release to receipt.
- Provide frontline support to internal and external customers regarding supplier purchase orders, inquiries, issues, or change requests.
- Cultivate relationships with supplier partners to facilitate critical information flow and enhance business management and customer experience.
- Collaborate with suppliers to obtain updated promise dates on past due orders and provide order status updates to end customers.
- Expedite shipments based on customer requests and high-value backlog orders to increase revenue recognition.
- Review and address purchase order exceptions to mitigate excess and obsolete inventory risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Customer Service, Transportation, Accounts Payable, Distribution Operations, and Supplier Relations, to meet customer delivery expectations.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma with 2+ years’ experience in professional position or Associates degree.
EXPERIENCE
- 1+ years experience in data entry
- Customer centric mentality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Validated prioritization and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and act with urgency in high volume environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-+ years Supply chain or meaningful experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
