SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION

The incumbent will perform coordination tasks of the production Engineering department for the accomplishment of priorities, programs/projects & operational objectives for BTCL. He is responsible of coordinating all types of technical and administrative activities in support of:

Manufacturing technology development & introduction to production

  • Product improvements & continuous improvement initiatives
  • Development programs
  • Co-production programs
  • Joint ventures
  • Supplier development &/or transition
  • Outsourcing &/or in sourcing projects

EXIGENCES DU POSTE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diplôme d’études universitaire dans un champ pertinent de la technologie de fabrication et/ou d’ingénierie. Le candidat doit démonter une connaissance approfondie des technologies relié à l’aéronautique. Une connaissance des techniques de moulage par compression et de la robotique est un atout.
  • La ou le titulaire devra posséder dix (10) ans d’expérience pertinente en génie de la fabrication ou en opérations de fabrication
  • Aptitude à la gestion budgétaire
  • Expérience démontrée à coordonner les activités de 5 à 10 employés
  • Excellente connaissance des meilleures pratiques en matière de gestion de projets
  • Excellente communication en français et anglais (oral et écrite)
  • Disponible pour voyager
  • Familiarisation avec la maîtrise des méthodes, le tolérancement, l’estimation des coûts, l’outillage et les technologies de fabrication plus complexes associées à cette spécialité

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree in pertinent field of Manufacturing Technology and/or Engineering. The candidate must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of aeronautical technologies. Experience in the field of compression molding is an asset along with any valuable experience in robotics.
  • The incumbent must have ten (10) years of pertinent experience in manufacturing engineering &/or manufacturing operations
  • Ability to administer budgets
  • Demonstrated experience to coordinate activities of 5 to 10 employees
  • Strong knowledge of project management best practices
  • Strong communicate French and English
  • Available for travelling
  • Familiar with mastering methods, tolerancing, cost estimating, aircraft materials and processes, tooling and the more complex manufacturing technologies pertinent

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates Projects/Programs activities:
  • Estimate and analyze cost, manpower, tooling and equipment
  • Estimate project return on investment
  • Establish budget and do follow-up
  • Establish project plans, schedule and milestones
  • Lead and coordinates project group activities
  • Document manufacturing sequence and make/buy plan
  • Documentation and project follow-up (A3 & 8D) and presentation to Management
  • Develop tooling plan and supplier approval
  • Coordinate tool design and tool fabrication (in house and outside)
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering, operations and other development personnel on producibility issues
  • Coordinate and provide technical and administrative liaison and support with Outside companies
  • Coordinate First Assembly Inspection (FAI)
  • Engineering change integration and follow-up
  • Benchmark new technologies and advanced manufacturing techniques;
  • Propose new manufacturing methods, processes and cost effective solutions for product research or production;
  • Participate to Research & Development project;
  • Provide mentoring, assistance training and technical advice to his/her co-workers
