REQUIREMENTS
- Experience working in editorial
- You’re a creative wordsmith with a sensitive ear for tone, and a portfolio demonstrating your ability to write copy for different mediums including long- and short-form, B2B and B2C
- Copyediting and proofreading are a breeze for you. You’re a confident comma user and you certainly know your en dashes from your em dashes
- Your curiosity knows no bounds, you love getting into the details and finding the story at the heart of a brief
- Proactive and motivated, you take initiative to get tasks done
- You’re comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines, without compromising on quality
- With a wealth of experience in juggling multiple projects, you communicate clearly about workloads and priorities
- Readily adaptable, you take changing deadlines, evolving briefs and feedback on your writing in your stride
- A clear spoken and written communicator, you’re happy briefing and mentoring freelancers to complete work to a high standard
- You have the confidence to act independently, but are ultimately a great team player, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders internally and externally
- Digitally savvy, you take to new systems easily and are preferably Mac, Google, Adobe Reader and InDesign literate
- You have a passion for food, hospitality and writing and keep up to date with current trends
- Ideally you’ll have food editing or cooking experience — you’re confident spotting errors in recipes and crafting tempting dish descriptions
- You may have worked in hospitality and have an understanding of the different copy touch points in the industry
- You might have a good base of Jamie knowledge already, but if you don’t you’re happy to immerse yourself in his books and TV shows to get up to speed quickly.

Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include:
- The delivery of all copy requirements for the restaurants’ team including dish names; marketing materials; press releases; video scripts; packaging and internal documents; as well as one-off publications, such as handbooks and brochures
- Making sure all content meets the brief, our brand standards and company objectives
- Acting as a guardian for our different brands, to achieve consistency in tone of voice across all written collateral
- Maintaining and evolving tone of voice guidelines and empowering junior editors, non-editorial team members, franchise partners, and freelancers to use tone of voice accurately, conducting regular spot-checks on content and providing feedback where needed
- Assisting in the creation of new restaurant concepts, supporting on all editorial and creative matters
- Managing menu creation, including reviewing recipes and working with chefs on dish names; editing menu change documents; coordinating feedback; making editorial changes directly into spreadsheets or InDesign files; and marking up PDFs for designers
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with marketing, operations, chefs, PR and management teams, in order to create best-in-class content
- Collaborating closely and creatively with marketing and design on briefs
- Interrogating briefs to ensure you and the in-house designers have all the necessary information to deliver the required assets to a high-standard and on schedule
- Collating feedback from key stakeholders on designed assets, and ensuring it’s implemented effectively
- Writing scripts, reviewing and providing feedback on films and supporting on restaurant film shoots
- Supporting chefs, designers and marketing with planning food photo shoots
- Supporting with the creation and maintenance of brand concept packs and assisting in creating tenders and presentations for potential new partners
- Applying wider business and cultural considerations to all restaurant collateral
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to keep our content fresh and relevant
- Working collaboratively with the wider editorial and content team to share information, and to input creatively into brainstorms, ideas and projects, as appropriate
