JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A passion for writing and a belief in the power of words
  • Strong attention to detail and a fierce advocate of proper grammar and syntax
  • The demonstrated ability to communicate through well-crafted, distinct and compelling narratives
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment with an ability to be open, listen and assimilate feedback from multiple sources
  • Comfortable presenting and articulating copy direction to key stakeholders
  • Must demonstrate an aptitude for action, ownership, strong creative thinking and problem solving
  • Possess the skill and drive to determine goal(s) of a project, campaign or initiative vis-a-vis context, audience, stakeholder inputs and characteristic(s) of channel and individual asset
  • Understanding the customer journey and how to write to each touchpoint
  • Knowledgeable of the retail and grocery category and its realities
  • Understand the importance of branding and how it comes to life
  • Advanced planning skills to prioritize and consistently meet deadlines; and not afraid to ask for help
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attuned to current culture and trends
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in customer segmentation, targeted marketing and community building/social networking is a plus

Responsibilities:

The duties of a Copywriter will include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Support Marketing team in developing coherent communication that’s relevant, effective and on brand
  • Write for a range of programs, channels and goals, including but not limited to:
  • broad brand stories, long-form or short-form
  • deliverables such as email, social, in-store, website, radio, etc.
  • campaigns and initiatives focusing on everything from brand building to driving sales growth to customer acquisition and retention
  • product specific point-of-sale
  • external and internal audiences
  • solution-based content
  • multiple product categories: Produce, Bakery, Grocery, Meat, Seafood, Wellness
  • Own the proofing and editing of all outgoing assets for accuracy
  • Establish brand messaging library sourced from feedback, determined best practices, channel tone and voice, and the realities of the marketplace
