Description:

Salford City Council is embarking upon an exciting and critical business transformation programme, named Project Genesis, to improve and transform the Council’s Finance, Human Resources, Organisational Development, Payroll and Procurement activities, making sure they are modern, efficient, and underpinned by the right digital and technology solutions.
The introduction of new, modern, cloud-hosted technology will provide opportunities for everyone across the Council to work differently and smartly. To achieve this means looking not only at those new digital and technology solutions but also the processes and way in which we currently work. Successfully embedding the change will therefore be crucial to successful delivery.
We are recruiting to a number of key roles to lead the development and implementation of this exciting transformation programme and looking for talented individuals who embody our values and ambitions to successfully deliver transformational change across the organisation, at pace. At this early stage we are looking to attract a Core Business Transformation - Finance & Procurement Lead to lead and play a central role in the delivery of our change programme with a focus on finance and procurement activities. The position will be a key lead within the programme team, reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Finance Officer, with a salary range of £70,431 to £77,183 per annum

We are particularly interested in applicants who have:

  • Functional operational experience for business change.
  • Experience of implementing new technology solutions for finance and procurement .
  • CCAB/CIMA qualified with familiarity with finance and procurement administration.

Responsibilities:

  • The ability to operate effectively in an environment of ambiguity, uncertainty and complexity and recommend and implement practical solutions and design new ways of working.
  • The ability to identify ways of improving processes and systems and of being able to evaluate and support the financial needs of long term/large scale projects.
  • The ability to undertake business analysis and design efficient business processes including identification of opportunities for savings or efficiencies, cost/benefit analysis, etc. and to work collaboratively with people across the organisation to successfully implement changes.
  • The ability to undertake change impact assessments and use persona analysis to shape appropriate business change activities including communications, engagement, and training plans.
  • A confidence to challenge the way things are done to bring about changes which improve efficiency and effectiveness in our processes.
  • Experience of leading change programmes, driving up standards and performance, managing services and achieving quality transformational outcomes
