Core Counsellor FSEAP

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counselling or Clinical Psychology or equivalent
• Minimum of three years related work experience providing counselling for individuals, couples, families and/or children or 2,500 counselling hours
• Current registration with a regulatory body: RSW, CCC or RCC

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Superior clinical skills, including a significant understanding of mental health and substance abuse issues and short-term, solution-focused treatment approaches
• Exceptional case management skills, including knowledge of community resources and ability to assist clients to effectively access, utilize, and benefit from those resources
• Demonstrated ability to create and manage professional clinical records with exacting detail
• A second language would be an asset, but is not required
