Description:

Cornad Contacting is a family-owned business with offices located in SE Calgary. Cornad and our related company employ approximately 30 employees, providing general contracting and construction management support to our clients. Cornad strives to provide unparalleled and responsive service to our customers.
We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to provide direction for assigned projects and effectively manage project performance including costs, schedule, quality assurance and project status. The Project Manager negotiates subcontracts, liaises with clients and sub-trades, and manages the technical and financial project details. to provide accounting and payroll support for the organization. This role reports to the Business Development Manager and is based in our Calgary office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Project Management (PMP) qualification, or equivalent, accompanied by a minimum of 7 to 10 years’ Project Management experience in a commercial construction environment.
  • Proven ability to manage projects with varying degrees of complexity and scope up to and exceeding $3.0 million.
  • Outstanding communication skills and demonstrated effectiveness in working with architects, designers, customers, vendors and site superintendents.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively lead, coach, and direct a team.
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced working knowledge of Excel, Word and Microsoft Project.
  • Possess a valid Alberta driver’s license (Class 5 or higher) and ability to travel extensively to job sites

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all project activities throughout the project lifecycle, including scope of work, schedule, resource allocation, documentation, budgets, and other factors necessary for project success.
  • Ensure contract compliance, manage documentation and navigate dispute resolution as required.
  • Manage all change orders, including negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impacts of any changes.
  • Lead, direct, and supervise project team and specific company personnel on assigned project(s).
  • Monitor project performance and provide regular status reports regarding schedule, costs, safety and environment, and quality control.
  • Participate in site meetings, conduct site tours, and safety inspections.
  • Initiate and attend final walk through at job close-out including organizing of any required documentation and prompt completion of site deficiencies.
  • Promote securing new business by participating in project estimates, working with subcontractors and attending any proposals and presentations as required.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with internal project team, external sub-contractors and trades, consultants, and our clients throughout the project.
  • Other duties as assigned.
