Corporate Accountant (Parental Leave Contract)

9 Story Media is currently hiring a Corporate Accountant to join our busy Toronto office.

Purpose: Why you’re here at Brown Bag Films/9 Story Media

• The Corporate Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all invoices, and monthly financial reporting
• Tracking actual to budget in development, facilities, IT, Marketing and Digital Media

Delivery: What you produce

• Monthly financial reporting, reconciliations and supporting documentation
• Financial Analysis of actuals to budgets
• Bi-weekly payable processing
• Balance intercompany with all locations/productions

Measurements: How we measure it

• Accuracy, timeliness and compliance of financial reporting
• Financial records accurate and up to date
• Feedback from Director of Finance and Corporate Accounting Manager

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 3-5 years experience in finance
• Great Plains Dynamics experience necessary
• Management Reporter for Microsoft Dynamics knowledge
• Detail oriented
• Proficient in Excel
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

GENERAL LEDGER and MONTHLY TASKS

• Prepare month end reports and financials
• Generate journal entries weekly into GP
• Weekly bank reconciliations
• Reconcile intercompany and maintain consolidated intercompany schedule
• Update and prepare Fixed Assets schedule
• Track Pre-paid software
• Prepare Monthly RPT Invoices and reports for production accountant
